Funding Public Health Pursuits in Tanzania

I have so much gratitude to all who have helped me reach 25% of goal! The generosity of family and friends is always astounding.

My goal is to raise $7,000 dollars for my nine months of living and volunteering in Tanzania. I leave October 5th, 2016 to arrive in Arusha, Tanzania where I will work with the impressive non-profit NGO Vision 4 Youth. I hope to develop my skills in public health education within the context of their valuable youth leadership and vocational training.

After six months with V4Y, I will spend my final couple months in Tanzania with the Mugumu Safe House and Vocational School. I am honored to join their work in the movement against female genital mutilation (FGM), by providing safe refuge, education, and vocational skills for regional girls running from the violent unnecessary act of FGM.

These nine months will be unpaid volunteering, and there are ample costs to traveling and living abroad. The money I am able to raise will cover visa costs, room and board, local transportation, and other living expenses.
